Crazy House 04:35
There's a certain type of folk who tie a yolk, called credibility Beholden to a form so nice and warm, called insecurity But there's a special place, a friendly space, waiting for you Just spend a moment there without a care, be impromptu If I could have my choice I would rejoice, at the Crazy House Go take a little spin on freedoms whim, at the Crazy House There's a certain type of joy in being coy, called anonymity But be careful where there's fear in there, called disparity Or like a flock of gulls just let your souls, peck on celebrity We're such a scattered form inside a mould, our identity If I could have my choice I would rejoice, at the Crazy House Go take a little spin on freedoms whim, at the Crazy House Every now and then you meet a friend, at the Crazy House A sense in reservation preservation, at the Crazy House If I could have my choice I would rejoice, at the Crazy House Yeah the people stare, the people glare, not at the Crazy House If I could have my choice I would rejoice, at the Crazy House Go take a little spin on freedoms whim, at the Crazy House If I could have my choice I would rejoice, at the Crazy House But there's uncertain cure in being pure, at the Crazy House

Burn Through 04:26
All around me are so certain Familiar space in which to hide Never doubting for a moment Change that will divide Oh life, it's crazy they say Many different roads, but most all go the same way But I won't be afraid To live my life by my plan No I won't look away I'll keep watching, I'll see right through As we turn forever yearning Some for power, some for fame Those for love forever learning The price of being tame Oh life, it's crazy they say Many different roads, but most all go the same way But I won't be afraid To live my life by my plan No I won't look away I'll keep watching, I'll see right through No I won't Ooohhhh No I won't be afraid To live my life by my plan No I won't look away I'll keep watching, I'll see right through Ooohhhhh, no I won't, I won't be afraid Ooohhhhh, no I won't, 'cause I'm burning I'm burning through

Darkness 03:38
This Darkness it spreads all around me, no warmth no light And it's thick as my pulse slowly counting, the time go by Where is the sun? I wait for you but you never come This Darkness it spreads all around me, no warmth no light And it's thick as my pulse slowly counting, the time go by Where is the sun? I wait for you but you never come Woohoohoo, woohoohooo Woohoohoo, woohoohooo So I sit here and write on my list, the pros and cons And I know I've a lot to be grateful for, but I'm still numb There is no sun, I wait for you but you never come! Woohoohoo, woohoohooo Woohoohoo, woohoohooo Woohoohoo, woohoohooo Woohoohoo, woohoohooo

We met, at an age when you were chasing stars You had an, eye for fashion and those fancy bars Still in between, I found the spark Head of candy and those princess dreams Friends who, only used you for their selfish means Still in between, I found the spark Insert a love just so that you can make a start This cardboard life where everyone just plays a part You wanted to Just wanted to But I wanted you Heart so frail but ego not so weak Why would you, want secure before sincere with me? When in between, we find the spark Dreams aside the wind can embrace This life is, now for living it's not a race When in between, we find the spark Insert a love just so that you can make a start This cardboard life where everyone just plays a part You wanted to Just wanted to But I wanted you Just wanted you Insert a love just so that you can make a start This cardboard life where everyone just plays a part You wanted to Just wanted to But I wanted you Just wanted you Just wanted you Just wanted you

My head, well it's so large but my mind's just so damn small I say, many thing's but I'm not really thinking at all La da da da dah la da da da dah la da da da dah... Not thinking at all La da da da dah la da da da dah la da da da dah... Not thinking at all! We're all Lonely People we look for answers above You know... REVIEWS

EarToTheGround Music:
This is mysterious rock music. You’ll find yourself feeling a bit befuddled, like you’ve stumbled down the rabbit hole with Alice. But then, suddenly, happily there will be a joyful backing vocal that helps it all make sense. But the spinning, rattling, endearing harmonies all make it feel like a legit crazy house. It’s a delight.

The Revue:
When thinking about great duos in music, the names Hall & Oates, The Civil Wars, The Eurythmics, The White Stripes, Sonny and Cher, and Tina and Ike Turner come immediately to mind. If the couple known solely as Des and Lou – or by their stage name Miles Recommends – continues to make catchy and meaningful folk-rock / rock-pop, we’ll be including their names alongside these more notable couples.

Before discussing their new song, it’s important to address their moniker. According to their Facebook page, Miles worked at their local video store and made recommendations on unorthodox movies to watch. Unfortunately, the video store no longer exists (not many do anymore), so in his honor Des and Lou named their band after him.

And like the movies we imagine Miles recommended, Des and Lou are making music that is a) not mainstream; b) meaningful; and c) unforgettable. Their new single, “Crazy House”, is a fantastic affair. This piano-driven, folk-pop tune echoes of the ’70s and ’80s, and the orchestration is masterful. The storytelling, though, is what steals the show. The song is like a Stanley Kubrick film (namely A Clockwork Orange), as Miles Recommends tell a story of a world that has been overrun by liars, cheaters, and the corrupt. Given this world, there’s only one thing we can do – go a little crazy.

Emerging Indie Bands:
Extended Play is a collection of five songs which ponders over the realities of life in a world where following the crowd has become the accepted norm with no articulation as to how that benefits the individuals who make up the mass.

There is a melancholic air to the compositions that are marked by the vocal harmonies which allow Miles Recommends to deliver a different flavour in each piece. This breadth is further enhanced by the range of instruments at their disposal which are carefully selected and deployed to create the weave of the fabric in the songs.

The middle track is Darkness – a sombre number that has a captivating beauty.

Miles Recommends is fronted by the Australian singer-songwriting and music production duo of Des Atkinson and Lou Cadell. They are currently touring and working on the bands debut LP due out in 2018.
